Percussion Instruments made out of Found Objects Workbook.
Sale Price $25.00 Available through Brian MelickThis book was created with a workbook concept. It features 35 different percussion instrument projects as well as six stick/mallet projects. There are also projects outlining how to create hanging devices to suspend some of the instrument projects you can make. The book is divided into subcategories based on the main material that the instrument is made out of (i.e., metal, organic, plastic, etc.). There is a formal description of each instrument and the sound it makes as an introduction to that instrument at the very top of the page which begins each instrument project. On the same page, there is a list of suggested materials and tools along with a photo of a completed instrument. After the last page of instruction for each project, there is ample area for your notes, so that the user can make a point of reference for the future about what steps or exact materials and quantities were used and the use that they had for project and / or the instrument itself.
The book's instruction is layed out with both text and photos and features over 100 black and white photos as a visual aide to the text. Readers can follow the progression through the photos, as well as the text, to create their instrument.
